I finished the design of my invitations! Now I can relax and wait to receive people's addresses! www.vistaprint.com is amazing!!! I just design it and input the addresses and they do the rest!!! They even keep on file which addresses I have put in and save them until I am ready to ship them out!!! I am going very non-traditional(of course),and using a post card! It is fun, colorful, and you can make it as unique as you want! Some people might not like this idea, but it is perfect me and my love! I have even created some t-shirts and key chains with the same design for the wedding party! It might be a little cheesy, but I am having a blast!
Matt and I have finally found the venue for our wedding! After much research, surfing the web and a few disapointments... we found the cutest place in downtown Roswell! It is gorgeous, romantic, and will be the perfect spot for our small party of 100 people. I am so happy to finally have this picked out, because June weddings book up fast, and even though I am planning a year and a half out a few places that I called were already booked! Now I can just start planning the menu and the flowers! We are going tonight to put down the deposit... This is really happening!!! I almost can't believe it!!! ♥
I really love the birdcage veil! For a vintage wedding with a modern twist, I think it will be perfect! I have already purchased the flower that I want to use on the veil.(Nicholas Kniel~Atlanta, GA) Now I just have to get the netting... Luckily my Mom is a Creative Genius, and will be able to help me!!! I am soooo excited to start on it, and will later post the finished product!
I would have to say that once you figure out what look you are going for the most important thing is the dress! Once you have picked out your dress other things seem to fall into place... My New "Mom to Be" (the term "Mother in-law" has always left a bad taste in my mouth, so I refuse to use it!) sent me a wonderful link from the Star Tribune in MN. It was about bridal trends in 2010, and apparently I am on the cusp of up and coming trends... Or is it that all the new trends are throwbacks to the 40's, 50's, and 60's, and that just happens to be the style I love? Well either way I loved the article and am excited to start turning my vision into a reality!
So.... I am starting the whole Wedding "Process." My Sister Hope told me I should write a blog about it, so here I am, and you are along for the ride. There is a lot more that goes into all the fun of a wedding than I had earlier imagined and I will share each step with you and welcome any advice!
This picture is a great example of the kind of "look" I am going for... A modern take on a vintage feel... I love the colors, and the way the vintagesque blue plays off of the fresh and young feeling yellow...
Hopefully I will get through this next year and a half of planning, and come out the other side a Happily Married woman... At least that is the goal... ♥
