Wedding Shoes

Well...
I bought some shoes for the wedding and they weren't exactly what I wanted
so I bought some shoe clips on etsy.com
I took them to my mom and with a look of desperation said,
"Make them Pretty," and make them pretty she did...
She added the "Whimsy" to my Wedding Shoes!!!
She is soooo Creative!
Here are some pics of the process!

Engagement Photo Shoot

I had so much fun on the Engagement Photo Shoot! My sister is an amazing photographer with an unbelievable eye for detail. She has this way of transforming a regular picture into art!!!
I don't know how we got Juno to sit still for a few of the shots but we did and they turned out amazing!
Here are a few of the shots that she has finished so far!
More to come!

New Invitations

So... Apparently Vista Print will only keep your design for so long if you don't order them in time... So I had to come up with a new design which was fine with me becuse my sister just came to do our Engagement Photos and I was itching to use them for the Invitations!!! So here is the proof for the Wedding Invites!

Fun fun fun!

I am so excited!!!! When I was looking through magazines I found a picture of a guy wearing a button boutonniere... I fell in love with it and decided to use that idea for my wedding!!! I was searching etsy.com and found something similar, so I convo'ed her, and asked if she was the designer of that particular boutonniere, and attached a pic. And GUESS WHAT??? She did design them!!! I asked her to design mine as well!!! I can't wait! She is going to use vintage buttons!!! I was going to make them myself, but I don't have that much talent, and I will be to busy making the girls' skirts!!! What luck!!! I love it!!! Check out her store!!!

I am posting the pic I saw in the magazine!!!

Dress Teaser

I am so excited!!! i finally got my "Dress" I am planning on wearing my Grandma's dress for the ceremony, and wanted a "Vintage-like" dress for the reception... I found the perfect one,(Uniquevintage.com) ordered it, and miracle of miracles IT FITS!!!! Booty and all!!! I love the way it looks... just a few modifications to the top and we will be ready to go... The shoes I found for $39.. "Unlisted Satin Platform Pump" in ivory from DSW; match perfectly... I think I just want to make some silk flowers to go on the side instead of the bow that it has, and use similar silk flowers on the dress rather than the applique sequin flower that came on it. All in all I am soooo happy with this dress... the way the fabric feels, the way it hits just at the shins for a perfect 1950's feel, and the "It" feeling I got when I tried it on... Perfect!!! Here is a "Dress Teaser Pic."

A Bump In The Road

Well.... I have hit a bump in the road... or perhaps it could best be described as a snag.... The dress I ordered was not made with a "Lesley Girl" in mind... In other words the entire dress fits like a glove except for the "Booty" Now for anyone that knows a "Lesley Girl" they know that we are blessed in the derriere department.
So... I have decided to start from scratch because the work to fix the dress is too extensive. I have decided that I want to wear my Grandma's Wedding Dress for the ceremony, and just find a reception dress...
Here is what I have come up with so far... I also have one more dress in mind if this one doesn't work. Hopefully, though, this dress will be more "Lesley" friendly! It has a 40's feel which is what I am going for, and will be easy to dance in! Since we are having a daytime wedding I think it will be perfect... I even found a gorgeous pair of shoes to go with it!!!

Invitations

I finished the design of my invitations! Now I can relax and wait to receive people's addresses!
www.vistaprint.com is amazing!!! I just design it and input the addresses and they do the rest!!! They even keep on file which addresses I have put in and save them until I am ready to ship them out!!! I am going very non-traditional(of course),and using a post card! It is fun, colorful, and you can make it as unique as you want!
Some people might not like this idea, but it is perfect me and my love! I have even created some t-shirts and key chains with the same design for the wedding party! It might be a little cheesy, but I am having a blast!

The "Venue"

Matt and I have finally found the venue for our wedding! After much research, surfing the web and a few disapointments... we found the cutest place in downtown Roswell! It is gorgeous, romantic, and will be the perfect spot for our small party of 100 people. I am so happy to finally have this picked out, because June weddings book up fast, and even though I am planning a year and a half out a few places that I called were already booked! Now I can just start planning the menu and the flowers! We are going tonight to put down the deposit... This is really happening!!! I almost can't believe it!!! ♥

The "Veil"

I really love the birdcage veil! For a vintage wedding with a modern twist, I think it will be perfect! I have already purchased the flower that I want to use on the veil.(Nicholas Kniel~Atlanta, GA) Now I just have to get the netting... Luckily my Mom is a Creative Genius, and will be able to help me!!! I am soooo excited to start on it, and will later post the finished product!

The "Dress"

I would have to say that once you figure out what look you are going for the most important thing is the dress! Once you have picked out your dress other things seem to fall into place...
My New "Mom to Be" (the term "Mother in-law" has always left a bad taste in my mouth, so I refuse to use it!) sent me a wonderful link from the Star Tribune in MN.
It was about bridal trends in 2010, and apparently I am on the cusp of up and coming trends... Or is it that all the new trends are throwbacks to the 40's, 50's, and 60's, and that just happens to be the style I love?
Well either way I loved the article and am excited to start turning my vision into a reality!

Start at the beginning... The "Look"

So.... I am starting the whole Wedding "Process."
My Sister Hope told me I should write a blog about it, so here I am, and you are along for the ride. There is a lot more that goes into all the fun of a wedding than I had earlier imagined and I will share each step with you and welcome any advice!

This picture is a great example of the kind of "look" I am going for... A modern take on a vintage feel... I love the colors, and the way the vintagesque blue plays off of the fresh and young feeling yellow...

Hopefully I will get through this next year and a half of planning, and come out the other side a Happily Married woman... At least that is the goal... ♥
